
Underground Colonial Adit Tour

Date and time
Underground mine tours of the Colonial Adit are available each summer during July and August
Tours are usually offered three times per day, 7 days a week, at 10am, 1pm, and 3pm
Firm schedule for tours with exception to a short delay.
Suggest to arrive at the museum 10 minutes early to hear instructions.
Prices for summer 2024
Adults — $20.00
Seniors (65+) and Students — $15.00
Children under 6 — Free
Group rate for 5-20 people — $12.00 per person
Group rate for 20+ people — $10.00
Transportation
Motorcycles, motor homes, and buses may be used as transportation to the site and back.
CMM staff cannot offer rides to or from the mine site. You must have your own mode of transportation.
Do not meet us at the Adit, follow our Cobalt Mining Museum van and listen to instructions inside the museum prior to departure.
Persons
Be sure to wear clothes appropriate for temperatures as low as 5 degrees, and shoes appropriate for a wet, underground environment.
Hard hats must be worn to enter the Adit. These are provided.
We have children’s hard hats
All hard hats are adjustable
15 person maximum per tour. For large groups (6+), inquire at least 1 week in advance.
Accessibility
Adit does not have bracing bars
Halls are wide enough for small motorized mobility scooters and manual mobility aid. Use your discretion.
Persons with disabilities are welcome to bring their service animals anywhere in the museum that is open to the public, but we ask anyone to use their own discretion when bringing along a service animal into the Adit.
